Head of Finance (m/f/x)

Berlin, Hybrid
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your Job at Raus.

Raus is reshaping how people reconnect with nature. Since 2021, we've taken 50,000+ guests off-grid across 100+ proprietary cabins in Germany and beyond - with a capital-efficient model built around owned assets and asset-backed financing. We're post-revenue, growing fast and with a clear path to European expansion.

The role

You'll own finance end-to-end for a multi-entity group (OpCo + asset-holding SPV) at one of the most interesting stages in our journey. You'll work directly with the CEO and founders on fundraising, investor relations, and strategic decisions - and lead a small finance team of 2. You will be an integral part of our executive team from day 1. This is the most important senior finance hire outside the founding team. You won't be inheriting a well-oiled machine - you'll be building one.

What you’ll do

Financial Steering

  • Full P&L ownership across the organisation: budgeting, forecasting, liquidity and cashflow planning, variance analysis, controlling

  • Build and maintain a financial model that the business actually runs on - scenario-based, driver-linked, updated in real time, not once a quarter

  • Unit economics and margin analysis across the portfolio: per-asset, per-region, portfolio-level

  • Identify cost and capital allocation decisions before they become problems; bring recommendations, not just reports

  • Set up and own the KPI framework - define the metrics, align the leadership team, make them visible

Governance & Reporting

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual close (HGB); group consolidation across OpCo + FinCo

  • Audit management end-to-end, including investor-grade financial reporting

  • Intercompany cash flows, transfer pricing mechanics, and group treasury across both entities

  • Tax and legal entity compliance in partnership with our external advisors (Steuerberater, Wirtschaftsprüfer)

Financing & Investor Relations
  • Active, hands-on role in equity & debt fundraises — not supporting, owning the finance workstream: model, DD responses, data room, investor Q&A

  • Manage our asset-backed lending facility: revolving mechanics, covenant tracking, UTI requests, draw-down timing, and potential future refinancing rounds

  • Understand and further develop the ABL flywheel at a structural level

  • Build and maintain banker and investor relationships as a principal, not just a support function

  • Lead on M&A finance work when acquisition targets or consolidation scenarios are in play: modelling, diligence, structuring, integration

Team & Systems

  • Lead, develop and retain the Finance Team - set direction, build capability, create a team that operates without you for the routine and escalates the exceptional

  • Own the finance toolstack: accounting system, FP&A tooling, expense management, payroll interface, evaluate, consolidate, and build for scale

  • Define and document finance processes: month-end, reporting cadences, approval workflows, payment runs - build the infrastructure the next version of this company will need

Your profile.

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, M&A, private equity, or as a senior finance leader at a high-growth company - you've operated at altitude and you know it.

  • You've been in a live fundraise as a principal: you've built the model, answered the DD questions, sat in investor calls, and helped close a round.

  • Real, working knowledge of asset-backed or asset-platform financing — real estate, infrastructure, leasing, or anything where physical assets underpin a debt facility. You understand LTV, covenant mechanics, revolving structures etc.

  • Experience in multi-entity group structures: intercompany transactions, consolidation, OpCo/SPV separation.

  • Buy-and-build or PE-portfolio background is a genuine advantage.  You're used to complexity, used to working without a full team behind you, and used to being the smartest person in the room on the numbers.

  • You can build a financial model from scratch and also tear apart someone else's. You know which assumptions matter and which are noise.

  • Hands-on and pragmatic: you don't wait for perfect information, you don't need a big support team to operate, and you're not too senior to do things yourself when it matters.

  • Confident and credible communicating with founders, operators, banks, investors, and counterparties in M&A processes — in English and German.

Why Raus?

  • Attractive base salary + meaningful equity package

  • Direct line to the CEO - you will shape strategy, not just report on it

  • A genuinely exceptional business at a pivotal moment: capital-efficient, differentiated, and building toward European leadership in its category

  • Real scope from day one: no hierarchy above you in finance, no politics

  • Modern benefits + personal growth budget

  • Berlin HQ, flexible working
